At Dr.Clinic Kilkenny, we offer minor suturing and wound care services for small cuts, lacerations, or minor injuries that can be safely managed in a GP clinic setting.
All procedures are carried out by our experienced doctors using sterile equipment and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and optimal healing.
What to Expect
During your consultation, the doctor will first assess your wound to determine if suturing can be safely performed in the clinic.
If the wound is deep, contaminated, involves tendons, joints, or the face, or requires specialist management, the doctor will advise referral to the Emergency Department for appropriate care.
Service Includes:
- Full doctor consultation and wound assessment
- Cleaning and preparation of wound
- Suturing (if appropriate)
- Wound dressing and aftercare advice
- Follow-up guidance for suture removal
Additional Fees (If Applicable):
- Tetanus Injection (if required): €25
The doctor may recommend a tetanus injection depending on your wound and vaccination history. This fee is not included in the consultation/suturing charge. - Suture Removal (follow-up visit): €20
If you return for suture removal after your procedure, this is charged separately as a follow-up appointment.
